AsiaMedic received 2 Silver Awards in the HRM Asia Reader’s Choice Awards 2020

During the recent HRM Asia Readers’ Choice Awards on 30 September 2020, AsiaMedic Wellness Assessment Centre was awarded Silver for both the Corporate Healthcare/Wellness Solution Provider, and Corporate Healthcare Group Provider categories.

AsiaMedic Wellness Assessment Centre (AWAC) to provide ESSENTIAL services.

We have entered the "Circuit breaker" period in Singapore to help curb the community spread of COVID-19. AsiaMedic Wellness Assessment Centre (AWAC) at Shaw House will remain open to serve our community but at reduced hours.

We know your concerns and we have prepared the following Q&A. If you still having any doubts, AWAC staffs are working hard to make sure timely medical advice and care can still be provided to you. Our communication lines (Hotline, email and WhatsApp) will still be available for all enquiries and appointment bookings.

Our team wishes you and your family safety, peace and good health during challenging times COVID-19. With our collective efforts, we will all pull through this and emerge stronger!

1. Is AsiaMedic Wellness Assessment Centre (AWAC) open during the COVID-19 “circuit breaker” period?

• Yes, we are open, but at reduced hours.

• We are open Mondays to Fridays, from 0830 to 1230 (8 April to 4 May 2020)

• We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

2. Isn’t health screening regarded as a non-essential service?

• Yes and no, it depends.

• We advise you to defer your routine health screening if you are completely well. Please stay at home and defer your screening to 5 May 2020 or later.

• If you are experiencing symptoms or have concerns, we would assess and offer health screening (assessment, to be more precise) on a case-by-case basis. We would like to help our frontline GP colleagues to decant their cases

3. Is it safe to visit the centre during "circuit breaker" period?

• Health screening centres are the cleanest and safest place for patients to address symptoms which are not related to infections. With the segregated appointment slots and social distancing measures in place, you are safe and in good hands

4. What are the symptoms that warrant early attention?

• Our friendly health navigators would advise you accordingly. Please contact us!

• Symptoms that warrant early check include breast lump, abdominal mass, unexplained weight loss/ gain, blood in stool, change in bowel habit, chest pain, etc.

• If you have any fever or respiratory symptoms, please visit Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs).

5. I have an appointment scheduled with AWAC for review of my results. What should I do now?

• AWAC Health Navigator will call you up to arrange for a phone review with our doctor.

6. I feel well, but I have known chronic diseases and have been procrastinating my health screening. Should I procrastinate further?

• Our friendly health navigators would ask you some relevant questions and advise accordingly.

• If your blood pressure and sugar are in the acceptable range, and you have sufficient supply of medications, you probably could wait until "circuit breaker" period is over.

7. AWAC is my go-to clinic for routine influenzae vaccination. I wish I had gotten my flu shot before "circuit breaker".

• Don’t worry, just stay home for now. We would have the latest Flu vaccine ready for you in May.

WE ARE OPEN

How does AWAC ensure Safe Care?

1. We uphold high standards of safety and hygiene measures to protect both our colleagues and clients

2. During booking of appointment, we screen and refer clients with acute infections, especially respiratory related, to be evaluated and treated by our GP colleagues

3. We ensure clients with possible contact with COVID-19 defer their screening

4. We evaluate “red flag” symptoms as soon as possible and refer promptly if needed

5. We prioritize vaccinations, especially influenza and pneumococcal vaccination

6. Health screening services for upper respiratory examination (e.g. Spirometry) will be unavailable until further notice.

Health screening helps you find out if you have a particular condition even if you feel perfectly well. Early detection, followed by treatment and good control of the condition can result in better outcomes, and lowers the risk of serious complications.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our medical team. Our Doctors and Nurses in-charge are ready to navigate your health screening journey with you during this unprecedented time of COVID-19

Be safe. Mask up
